Where is Northern Westchester: Northern Westchester refers to the upper portion of Westchester County, a suburban area north of New York City. Municipalities in Westchester are often referenced in connection to the geographical half of the county they are in; either Northern or Southern. The northern portion (places north of Interstate 287/Cross Westchester Expressway) is further from Manhattan and more rural than the southern portion. Northern Westchester offers a relaxed, country-like lifestyle while still remaining in close proximity to New York City. The following are the towns, villages and hamlets in Northern Westchester: Armonk, Bedford, Chappaqua, Mount Kisco, North Castle, Somers, Katonah, Peekskill, Ossining, Croton, Pound Ridge, North Salem, South Salem, Yorktown, Cortlandt, Millwood, Lewisboro, Sleepy Hollow, Briarcliff, Mohegan Lake.
Where is Putnam: Putnam county is located directly above Westchester, and includes the following towns and villages: Carmel, Kent, Patterson, Philipstown, Southeast, Putnam Valley, Cold Spring, Nelsonville, and Brewster. Putnam County is known for its many reservoirs, part of the New York City watershed.
Transportation: MTA Metro-North railroad connects both Putnam and Westchester counties with Grand Central Terminal in Manhattan via Harlem and Hudson line trains. You can find out train stops, schedules, fares and other information at Metro-North website. In addition to trains, these highways run through the counties: I-684, I-84, Saw Mill Parkway, and Taconic Parkway, making commute to White Plains and points in lower Westchester, New York City and Connecticut a breeze!
While I am certainly not an expert in every single area of Northern Westchester and Putnam counties, I do have working knowledge of many communities up here. I hold Master’s Degree in Library and Information Sciences from Pratt Institute, and before coming into Real Estate, I have spent many years in corporate America in Research, Marketing and Business Development areas. I love numbers, trends and market statistics; and I am very happy to be using my analytical skills researching the market and presenting my clients with regular and very local real estate updates.
Like so many other people I “fell into real estate” by chance. After many years and working and living in New York City I was ready for a lifestyle change. While looking for my own house (and driving my real estate agent nuts for 7 months!), I enjoyed the process so much that it became a logical choice for me. I enjoy looking at houses and meeting new people; explore all the wonderful neighborhoods with buyers and creating personalized marketing plans for sellers. I feel privileged by helping my clients make best decisions about buying, selling, or investing in real estate.
My business motto is Underpromise and Overdeliver. I do go extra mile for my clients, and will not stop until all of their requirements are met and questions answered. My goal is to make every real estate transaction as smooth and enjoyable as possible, building relationships along the way that last long after the closing.
I am a native Russian speaker, and also hold Master’s Degree in History and English from Moscow State University.
